Image Resizer in Inches — Set Print Width

Resize an image to a print width in inches at your chosen PPI. Preserve proportions and write density metadata to PNG or JPG.

Up to 10MB. Files are uploaded for server processing. Free daily limits apply.

Height follows the original proportions. Pixel width = inches × PPI.

Output is re-encoded and source metadata is removed before adding the requested density.

Turn inches into pixels

Enter the desired print width and pixels per inch. Six inches at 300 PPI produces an image 1800 pixels wide. The height follows the source proportions; this tool does not crop the image to a second physical dimension.

Check the source before enlarging

A print-size requirement describes how many pixels the output needs, not how much detail the source contains. Enlarging a small image may look soft. Inspect the original and choose a realistic print size.

Print at the intended scale

The output stores the requested density, but a print application can override it with settings such as fit to page. Check its preview and physical measurements. Choose PNG for transparency or JPG for a white background.
